Buenos Aires Poised For The Return Of The Mondeda

As has been widely reported during the last few months, it’s been almost impossible to find Monedas (one peso coins) in Buenos Aires for various reasons, but mainly due to their necessity to ride the city’s buses. Well it looks like BA’s upgrading and instituting an electronic ticketing system, which should free up the coveted coins for everyday use. As far as one-dollar coins go, I’m partical to the Canadian Loonie, but I’m a sucker for ornithologically-themed coinage.
