Looking for something else to do while on your trek to Machu Picchu? Try spending some time in Ollantaytambo. Located about 2/3 of the way to Machu Picchu from Cusco, Ollantaytambo is the Sacred Valley’s other hotspot for parking your llama and checking out Incan ruins.

I passed through Ollantay four times this year but didn't have a chance to stick around. It definitely looks like it'd be worth it, though can get quite hectic in the afternoons when all the tour buses roll in.
