Why Do People Go To Disneyland?

LuggagePoint has this great visual chart of the world’s 50 most popular tourist destinations. Sadly enough, a quick glance at the graphic shows how popular the Disney parks are, not only in the U.S., but in Europe and Asia as well.

Is there any way to describe the horror that Disneyland Paris beats out the Louvre by over 3 million people a year? (Or that Disneyland Tokyo beats out the Great Wall of China.) Sorry Disney enthusiasts, I just don’t get you.

It's simple really: there are more people who want to see Mickey Mouse than the Mona Lisa…what 5yo wants to be walking around a cold place like a museum when they rather be standing center in a perfect Fantasy Land…Sorry to make you face reality…

  I can understand, I do try to avoid reality as much as possible . . . I guess my point is that what we are exposed to as children heavily influences us later in life. When I was a kid I wanted to sit around my basement and play with Transformers all day, but I had to leave the house, go to school, play sports, etc. . . And I'd like to think I'm a little better for it now.
